Empowering Women Forward: Farm Alert Welcomes Hon. Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, Minister for Women Affairs

In a spirited reception marked by music, dance, and optimism, Hon. Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim was warmly welcomed as Nigeria’s new Minister of Women Affairs, surrounded by ministry officials, women’s groups, and distinguished stakeholders. The Permanent Secretary, Ambassador Gabriel Aduda, along with other prominent figures such as the President, Veterinary Council of Nigeria (VCN), AIG Aishatu Baju, Mrs. Moji Makanjuola, and Geraldine Etuk commended the minister’s commitment, pledging support to realize President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda. Dr. Asabe Vilita Bashir, Director General of the Maryam Babangida Women Centre, underscored that the ministry is fortunate to have a leader of Sulaiman-Ibrahim’s caliber.

With a proven track record, including her time leading the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) and her impactful work as the Minister of State for Police Affairs, Sulaiman-Ibrahim assured that her tenure will usher in innovative approaches to elevate women and girls across Nigeria. She expressed gratitude to President Tinubu and the First Lady for their confidence in her, stating that her leadership will embody an era where “action will speak louder than words.” The minister emphasized her dedication to translating policies into impactful actions aimed at justice, equality, and progress for Nigerian women.

Calling for nationwide support, Minister Sulaiman-Ibrahim proclaimed, “It is indeed Women’s O’clock in Nigeria. I am here for you, and we will walk this path, hand in hand, towards a brighter and more inclusive Nigeria.”
