Abuja Associates

I am the Country Managing Director at Farm Alert, and I have been with Farm Alert now for seventeen months. During this time, I have witnessed the incredible growth and transformation of the organization and its people. It has been a journey of meaningful work and professional enrichment.
A memorable project that stood out for me was when the whole team worked together a year ago to draft the standard operating procedure (SOP) manuals for all the different departments in Farm Alert. This project was remarkable because it showcased the uniqueness and strength of each team member. It was inspiring to see everyone bring their skills, insights, and energy to create a comprehensive framework that continues to guide our operations today.
There is no end to the trigger and inspiration for expanded professional development that comes from the push, challenge, inspiration, and encouragement to build capacity and seize opportunities for growth that abound with a CEO like Dr. Kayode Femi. There is always a takeaway tip or lesson after every brief or long meeting with him. His passion for sharing his experiences and learnings leaves me constantly inspired, often thinking, “Oh my God, I’d like to be like the CEO when I grow up.” His leadership creates an environment where growth is not just encouraged but inevitable.
I look forward to seeing us at the forefront of the One Health drive in Nigeria and the African continent at large. Our dedication to innovation and our commitment to making a lasting impact on public and animal health will undoubtedly position Farm Alert as a leader in this crucial area.
Happy 5th Anniversary, Farm Alert, and cheers to many more years and feats!

As Farm Alert celebrates its 5th anniversary on November 26, 2024, I reflect with gratitude on my journey within this incredible organization. I began as a Fulfillment Officer, learning the importance of precise processes in operations. Transitioning to Store Officer, I expanded my knowledge of inventory management and product flow. My return to Fulfillment brought additional responsibilities, marking the start of my transition into technology when I supported our E-Commerce platform.
This shift led to a role in IT support, where I contributed to enhancing our operations through tech solutions. My promotion to Head of Operations for the Abuja Distribution Center provided me the chance to oversee distribution logistics, and I embraced this challenging role, knowing the impact it had on underserved communities.
Eventually, I was honored to become the Chief Technology Officer, integrating my experiences to lead Farm Alert’s tech initiatives. In this role, I focus on driving technological innovation to further our mission of advancing animal healthcare in underserved areas.
Reflecting on my growth, I am immensely grateful for the opportunities and support from our leadership and team, especially Dr. Femi Kayode. I’ve had the privilege of contributing to memorable projects like our due diligence files and the milestone of securing funding for Farm Alert’s next phase of growth.

As Farm Alert celebrates its 5th Anniversary on November 26, 2024, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey I’ve had with this organization. Being part of Farm Alert has been a transformative experience—one that has not only shaped my career but also contributed significantly to my personal growth.
My story with Farm Alert began even before its official presence in Abuja. I had the privilege of being one of the pioneers working behind the scenes to lay the foundation for our operations in the region. During that time, I focused on establishing key partnerships, such as with the Police Clinic, as a strategic entry point into the Abuja market. Although it was a challenging period, it was also deeply rewarding, and it culminated in securing a place in Abuja, which has now blossomed into a thriving hub for Farm Alert.
I officially joined Farm Alert as the Media Manager, where I was responsible for managing our online presence, branding, and media-related activities. This role allowed me to bring my creativity to the forefront and help establish Farm Alert’s digital identity. As my journey progressed, I transitioned into the role of Head of Operations for the Abuja branch. This was a pivotal moment, as I took on the responsibility of overseeing day-to-day operations, contributing directly to the growth of our presence in Abuja.
Later, I moved into the position of Vice President, Brands, Marketing, and Corporate Communications, where I helped shape the company’s image and solidify its standing in the industry. I also embraced new challenges as the Logistics and Supply Chain Manager, ensuring the efficient delivery of products and services to our clients, which was key to our operations.
Farm Alert has had a profound impact on my life. The company provided me with a platform to grow, learn, and explore my potential in ways I never imagined. Under the inspiring leadership of Dr. Femi Kayode and with the unwavering support of my colleagues, I have been able to develop skills, gain valuable experience, and build confidence in my abilities. Farm Alert has not just been a workplace—it’s been a family, a place where growth and support go hand in hand.
As I look ahead, I am filled with excitement for the future of Farm Alert. I am committed to contributing to our vision of becoming the leading distributor of essential animal healthcare products to underserved communities across Africa by 2030. Together, we are on the brink of achieving even greater milestones, and I am proud to be part of this journey.
Farm Alert is more than just a company—it’s a mission, a purpose, and a legacy we are building together. I am grateful to be part of this incredible journey and look forward to celebrating many more milestones with the Farm Alert family.
Best regards,
Jeremiah Shiaka | Director Media/Brand

I joined Farm Alert on August 12th, 2022, and it’s been an incredible ride. Growth isn’t always easy, but it’s essential to evolve and achieve greatness. I’ve had to step out of my comfort zone, and it’s been worth it.
My journey from being an accountant to Chief Accountant and now Chief Financial Officer has been remarkable. One of the highlights was working on securing funding from B.I. last year. Although it was a challenging and time-consuming process, our collective efforts paid off, and we received the funding.
Being part of the Farm Alert team has broadened my horizons, enhanced my leadership skills, and helped me envision a brighter future. Professionally, I’ve grown significantly, becoming a chartered accountant and pursuing an MBA. I’m excited to explore more certifications in 2025.
As Farm Alert continues to grow, I’m committed to growing alongside it. I appreciate the leadership and the opportunity to be part of this “family business”.
Thank you for the platform to grow, dare, and thrive. Cheers to the next 5 years!
Best regards,
Blessing Onaolapo, ACA | Chief Financial Officer

A year ago, I embarked on a journey that would change the trajectory of my life. It began with an unexpected surprise: winning the Outlier Award. This honor led me to an internship at Farm Alert, a place I knew little about. On August 28th, 2023, I ventured into the bustling city of Abuja, eager to explore new horizons. Little did I know that this internship would become a catalyst for personal and professional growth. As I immersed myself in the dynamic world of Farm Alert, I discovered hidden talents and passions that I never knew existed.
My journey began in the Media team, where I honed my skills in content creation. I produced engaging articles, social media posts, and videos on a wide range of animal health topics. From exploring the intricacies of livestock farming to highlighting the challenges faced by smallholder farmers, I found immense satisfaction in sharing knowledge and inspiring others.
One of my most memorable experiences was moderating my first Aspire Mentorship Program. It was a daunting task, but with the support of my colleagues, I successfully guided a group of aspiring young professionals. This experience boosted my confidence and taught me the importance of effective communication and leadership. During my time at the Partnership and Growth team, I faced a challenging task: selling 1,000 vaccines. Despite the initial setback of selling only one, I persevered. This experience taught me the value of resilience and the importance of never giving up.
Even after my internship ended, Farm Alert remained a second home to me. The warm and supportive environment, coupled with the mentorship of Dr. Kayode, made me feel like part of a family. I continued to engage with the organization, participating in various projects and events. In February 2024, I was thrilled to join Farm Alert as a full-time employee. My first major project was the Tecla Program, which I successfully executed, gaining valuable experience in event planning and program management.
Over the past year, I have had the privilege of contributing to numerous initiatives. I have mentored aspiring professionals through the Aspire Program, conducted training sessions for university students, and created informative content on animal health. I have also been involved in awareness campaigns, community outreach programs, and farm visits. One of the most impactful projects I have worked on is the Eggs of Hope Initiative. This initiative aims to address malnutrition among vulnerable children by distributing eggs. I played a key role in planning and executing the launch event, as well as coordinating the distribution of eggs to schools, communities, and orphanages.
Through my hard work and dedication, I was promoted to Community Engagement Manager. In this role, I have spearheaded various initiatives, including a rabies awareness campaign and a collaborative project with the CDS Group. I have also forged strong partnerships with government agencies and other organizations to advance Farm Alert’s mission.
As I reflect on my journey at Farm Alert, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunities and experiences that have shaped me. I am excited to continue growing and making a positive impact on the world of animal health. Farm Alert is more than just a workplace; it is a place where I can be myself, learn, and thrive.
Best regards,

The deliberate actions taken by our leaders to foster individual growth—such as Growth Thursdays, Center Monday Meetings, and retreats—have broadened my perspective and helped me develop both personally and professionally.
As I look ahead, I see a bright future for Farm Alert. I eagerly anticipate the time when the organization reaches the global stage, standing tall with excellence, influence, and unparalleled productivity. It’s only a matter of time before the vision of our CEO is fully realized, and until then, we will continue to press forward with dedication and purpose.
Best regards,
Olojede Olaoluwa Oluwafemi | Store Manager, Ibadan

My name is Mr. Otene Elaigwu, currently serving as an officer in the Partnership and Growth Department at Farm Alert. I joined Farm Alert on August 1, 2022, starting my journey at Epe, Lagos State. Initially, I worked as an Internal Auditor, overseeing the three retail arms of Farm Alert in Lagos.
Over time, my roles expanded and evolved. I transitioned to a Supply Chain Officer, then to a Fulfillment Officer, and later moved to the Marketing Department, now known as the Partnership and Growth Department. Currently, I hold the position of Partnership and Growth Officer, balancing both Marketing and Fulfillment responsibilities until a new Fulfillment Officer is employed, allowing me to focus solely on Marketing.
Looking back, there have been countless standout memories and projects during my time at Farm Alert. A few that stand out include:
- The impactful training sessions led by our CEO at the Elekko retail outlet in Lagos, as well as the insightful lectures during the end-of-month reviews.
- Last year’s end-of-the-year retreat, which left me refreshed and brimming with valuable lessons from the teachings and activities.
- Growth Thursdays and the books assigned by the CEO for us to read and review, which have greatly expanded my knowledge and perspective.
- The remarkable project of starting the Ibadan branch alongside the CEO and Mrs. Olaitan. Being part of this initiative from its inception and witnessing its growth fills me with immense pride and joy. Reflecting on where the branch started and where it is today inspires me to continue striving for excellence.
As a professionally trained graduate in Business Administration and Management, working at Farm Alert feels like being a fish in water. It provides me with the perfect environment to practice what I studied and fulfill my dream of being a business professional. Although I’m still on my journey to achieving my ultimate goals, I find great satisfaction in being part of an organization that aligns with my aspirations and equips me for the future.
I am committed to giving my best to ensure Farm Alert continues to move forward and thrive. My vision is to become a pillar, a ladder, and a voice within the organization—a fully grown and successful employee contributing to Farm Alert’s remarkable legacy.
The future of Farm Alert is bright and boundless, and I am honored to be part of its journey.

I am currently the Head of Operations at the Farm Alert Gembu branch, having been with the organization for one year and five months. My journey with Farm Alert has been nothing short of transformative. Serving in various roles, including Partnership and Growth Manager, Store Manager, and training women on how to raise Noiler birds, has been a standout experience. These projects have deeply impacted me, especially the hands-on approach with the communities we serve.
As a Veterinary Doctor, Farm Alert has provided me with the perfect platform to hone my skills, engage in practical fieldwork, and offer valuable advice to farmers during treatment sessions. This hands-on practice has been incredibly rewarding and aligns with my professional growth.
Looking ahead, I am confident that with the shared vision and commitment, we will achieve our goal of becoming the number one animal healthcare brand in Africa by 2030. I am proud to be part of this journey and excited for the future of Farm Alert.

My journey with Farm Alert is a story of passion, perseverance, and the relentless pursuit of excellence. It began just two days before my induction into the veterinary profession, when I first heard about the Pioneer Outlier Award for Leadership in Veterinary Schools—an initiative by Farm Alert. The moment I learned about the award, I boldly declared to myself, “This is my award. There’s nothing normal about me, and I am meant for greatness.”
Fate affirmed my determination, and I was honored with the prestigious award. That recognition not only validated my hard work but ignited a profound sense of purpose and responsibility. It was my first encounter with Farm Alert, but it was just the beginning of an extraordinary journey.
With my sights set on making a meaningful impact, I eagerly began a one-month internship with Farm Alert. I embraced every task with enthusiasm, driven by an insatiable desire to learn and grow. During a conversation with the CEO, when asked about my aspirations, I confidently said, “I want to be like you or something more than you.” That declaration wasn’t just a dream—it was my promise to myself.
After the internship, I was offered a full-time position. However, just a month into the role, I faced a significant challenge: the CEO doubted my ability to deliver results. It was a defining moment in my career—a moment that demanded transformation. I took it as a challenge to become a results-driven, proactive individual. Determined to prove myself, I adopted a mindset focused on innovation, accountability, and resilience. With unwavering commitment, I began delivering results that exceeded expectations.
Over the next 2 years and 9 months, I transitioned through various roles, each bringing new opportunities for growth: Customer Satisfaction Officer, Partnership and Growth Officer, and Community Engagement Specialist. These experiences sharpened my skills, expanded my knowledge, and deepened my passion for the industry.
Today, as the Chief Partnership and Growth Officer at Farm Alert, I reflect with pride on a journey that has been both challenging and rewarding. I have learned the importance of resilience, adaptability, and innovative thinking. Most importantly, I have become a leader focused on creating solutions and driving positive change. Farm Alert is more than a company—it’s a legacy in the making. It’s a brand I wear with pride and a vision I am deeply committed to. Watching Farm Alert celebrate its 5th Anniversary fills me with immense gratitude. This remarkable milestone is a testament to the dedication, innovation, and passion that defines our team.
Looking ahead, I am excited about what the future holds. Farm Alert is on a trajectory to becoming the leading brand in the veterinary industry across Africa by 2030. I am honored to be part of this journey and look forward to contributing to the next chapter of growth, resilience, and impact.
Here’s to 5 years of success—and to the limitless possibilities that lie ahead.
Best regards,
