In a bid to enhance economic empowerment and support rural women, the Jigawa State Government has launched a goat distribution program, benefiting 88 women in Birniwa Local Government Area. A total of 264 goats were allocated to the selected beneficiaries as part of the state’s broader efforts to promote livestock farming and improve household income generation.
The initiative was officially flagged off by Governor Umar Namadi, who praised the Birniwa Local Government Chairman, Mallam Shehu, for aligning with the state’s Goat Rearing Scheme. The governor emphasized his administration’s commitment to agricultural empowerment, citing other interventions such as the 100-hectare rice cultivation project spanning all 27 local government areas in the state.
